On this release I decided to go back to what I do best. So I made Conquer and Divide much more of a guitar -hero type of record with extended guitar solos and complex instrumental sections. No Forgiving has probably the best solo I've ever recorded to date (or right up there anyway). Sign of the Cross, Forsaken , Sacrifice and the title track all loaded with over the top guitar work. I also wanted to music to be heavier, meaner and more aggressive, which it certainly was, with almost all of the tunes being fast in tempo. The response from the press was very positive with tons of great reviews for the record pouring in, and many people saying that they really preferred Conquer and Divide over Sacred Ground. This was the only Reign of Terror record where all the personnel remained from the previous recording and we had done a good amount for Sacred Ground. So the overall band vibe was stronger. A nice mixture of aggressive classically influenced speed metal and insane guitar work.
