Joe Stump - Guitars  After releasing my first two instrumental discs I decided I could really expand my fan base by doing more of a vocal -band oriented type of project. So in the great traditions of Ritchie Blakemore's Rainbow and Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force I formed Joe Stump's Reign Of Terror. The music is a natural extension of what I do on my solo records with the heavy Blackmore/Malmsteen influences mixed with some good doses of speed, thrash and European power metal. All in all a solid first outing , some very cool riffage - Better off Dead, Don't Play Fair, and Broken Heart. Some killing lead work on Don't Look Back, Heartless and the Guitar Concerto in Dm . Also the solo in I Need Your Love is still one the best one's I've ever recorded in a slow ballad setting. And I thought Highway Star came out real well, a nice tip of the hat to Ritchie. |
