And once again new record another
new singer. This time the world-class pipes of former Loudness/Yngwie
Malmsteen vocalist Michael Vescera. With the addition of
Mike's
killer "Dio on steroids" voice and the keyboard genius
of longtime Malmsteen band mate Mats Olausson, this certainly
took the status of the band up a few notches. I decided that
Sacred Ground should be more of a band oriented effort with
some of the solo sections be a little bit shorter and the music
having more of that commercial Euro-metal influence. The production
of the record was also slicker and smoother sounding. I remember
seeing a review that read - On Sacred Ground, Reign of Terror
sound like a cross between 70's Rainbow, 80's Malmsteen and
90's Stratovarious. Not that far from the truth, I guess.
